Guitar Tablature Info
I’ll be working on getting select guitar tabs posted up here. I know there are thousands of tablature sites out there, but unfortunately almost every time I go to pick up another tune to save the time of learning by ear, I find at least 15% of the tab to be incorrect and while it usually is enough to put me on the right track of picking up the song, it doesn’t always come close to the listed tablature. Since there are literally hundreds of tablature sites around, and at least 3/4ths of the tab tends to be correct, I will only be posting tabs here that I have found no correct versions for, or that I had to dig around for a while to find them. Any that aren’t written by me will be linked to, as I am not going to steal others hard work, as I have found writing tab is actually a lot more time consuming than I originally thought it to be.
I am by far not the best player in the world, but I am a perfectionist when it comes to my playing, and if I cover a song written by someone else, I want to play it correctly with the same tone as the original, not change the chord position or other changes to make the song “easier” to play, or just
because the one transcribing the tab didn’t have the ear to hear the tonal differences of what they are writing down. I know several players that don’t really care to do this, and just want to play it the easiest way, and if it sounds OK, then they go with it. This is fine, as no matter what, you are always just playing the guitar, but I did want to note this for anyone to consider before they start posting their opinions on any posted tablature, as I have found some to be very outspoken and adamant on their accepted “versions” of a song, which is probably why when searching for tab you usually find at least 5 different versions of anything you are searching for.
Once I have more time to work on it I will get some tablature posted up here, and possibly some “how-to” video’s for the more difficult pieces or complicated strumming etc. At the moment I only have a 50 year old acoustic guitar that wasn’t cared for properly, so the string action is painfully high off the neck and requires it’s own technique and amazing amounts of finger pressure to hold even simple chords. Hopefully I will scratch up the money to purchase either another acoustic or electric guitar, whichever I find first with the best price, as I am mainly hitting up the pawn shops at the moment, since you can sometimes find excellent deals there. In fact, I know someone got a very good deal on my $1,200 Jackson Professional that I had to pawn back in 2003…bastards
I will mention that since I sold all of my rig back in 2003, I have practiced VERY little since then, and have just now after a few weeks started to develop the finger strength and calluses to play this old thing I have even partially effectively, so I would appreciate keeping that in mind when you comment on my clumsy finger-style or mistakes
Hopefully anything posted someone will find useful somewhere, and comments, corrections, etc. will always be welcome from anyone that has something to say other than a rant or other such bullshit. Why there are so many on the internet that act like idiots and spend inordinate amounts of time just to critique others I will never understand, but can only conclude they are unintelligent and hope they aren’t such asses in their real lives.
